Grinding & Polishing

Accessories include products used to secure all disc products to the platen. 

Grinding abrasives are products available in different forms: belts, discs, rolls and sheets. The abrasive is fixed to the substrate, whether paper, film or cloth and is used for stock removal.

Lapping film(s) are made with an abrasive that is precision coated onto a rigid, film-backed substrate. They are primarly used to polishing small samples not encapsulated in a resin where precision and flatness are critical. 

Polishing products include abrasives, lubricants and cloths. 

Polishing abrasives consist of suspensions/slurries, compound (paste) and powders

Polishing lubricants are used with polishing abrasives to reduce cloth/pad wear and enhance or extend the performance and life of abrasive products. 

Polishing cloths are used with polishing abrasives to remove scratches from grinding to produce a scratch-free, mirror-like finish. There are several types: woven, non-woven, flocked and chemotextile available in disc and sheet form with different backings: plain, adhesive (PSA), or ferromagnetic substrate.
