Cutting Tools (End Mills)
Allied offers a wide selection of high performance, solid carbide, center-cutting end mills compatible for use on the X-Prep®. They are recommended for cutting metals such as copper, aluminum, gold, solder, low glass FR4 substrate and other non-metallics.
2-flute end mills have deeper, longer gullets for greater chip-carrying capacity, are center cutting and are available in diameters as small as 0.05 mm.
4-flute end mills produce a finer finish than 2-flute but are available only down to 0.7 mm in diameter.

Al/Cu tools (silver) are ideal for cutting aluminum (Al) or copper (Cu) dry.
Fe tools feature a coating (dark brown) suitable for either wet or dry cutting of a wider variety of metals, including ferrous (Fe) alloys.
PCB tools are diamond coated (very dark) for durability and suitable for wet (submerged in fluid) cutting printed circuit board (FR4/PCB) substrates with less than 50% glass content.
