Sectioning

Choosing the right model depends on the size of the sample to be sectioned. The diameter of the blade needed to pass through the sample is often the determining factor and will establish limits to the options. Labs needing to section a wide variety of samples will choose a model with greater versatility and capability. Any saw, when equipped with proper blade type is capable of sectioning nearly any material; it is not dependent on the saw model.  

 

Semi-automatic sectioning machines feature forms of automation that provide quantitative control of machine parameters that improves productivity and ensures repeatability. 

 

Manual sectioning machines require operator control of either the blade or the sample feed into and through the blade path.
