Dia-Grid |
Dia-Grid is a unique design featuring segments of diamond arranged in a pattern matrix that efficiently channels water (or lubricant) to wash away debris for maximum performance. This product is available in different patterns and bond types, metal or resin. |
 |
Metal Plated |
Metal Plated diamond discs feature a single layer of nickel plated diamond and are recommended for grinding smaller, unmounted samples. |
 |
Silicon Carbide |
Silicon carbide (SiC) abrasive is most commonly used for grinding metallographic samples. Making Allied's product unique is the composition. Combining superior mineral grading (tight particle distribution), a high-quality resin topcoat, c-weight carrier with a waterproof latex additive, all these characterisitics provide value that can be measured in material removal and capacity. Adhesive back product features an "easy-pull", non-transferring adhesive that will not leave adhesive in place on the platen when removed. |

Zirconia Alumina |
Zirconia alumina (ZrAl) abrasive is most commonly used to rapidly grind (at high RPM) extremey hard to hard ferrous metal alloys. It is . As general guidance, if/when substituting (or considering) a 60 grit SiC, it is best to use a 120 grit in ZrAl. Adhesive back discs feature a high strength adhesive made to withstand the lateral sheer and heat associated with heavy grinding. Suggest using a PTFE platen adapter on a magnetized platen to minimize adhesive transfer issues. |
