Manual sectioning involves manual operation by an operator to drive either the sample into the blade, or the blade into the sample.
The PowerCut 10x™ is a large format abrasive cut-off saw with a wheel capacity of up to 10" (250 mm) for regular cutting of samples ranging in thickness up to about 3" (65 mm). Its swing-arm design positions the blade down into the sample that is secured in place to the table by either vise(s) and/or clamp(s).
The TrimSaw 2x™ is a table-saw designed for cutting either flat substrates or small samples by hand-feeding them into the blade/wheel.
PowerCut 10x™
The PowerCut 10x™ is a powerful, reliable cut-off saw designed for low to high volume applications. It accommodates blades up to 10" (250 mm) in diameter, allowing a wide variety of sample shapes and sizes up to 3.75" (95 mm) thick to be sectioned.
Versatile: Dual T-slot tables allow front-to-back and side-to-side vise/clamp positioning. A side port allows cutting of longer samples such as bar stock.
Durable: Engineered and constructed using precision machined, hard-anodized aluminum and stainless steel components to provide maximum longevity. Front controls and rear electronics are isolated from the wet cutting chamber.
Easy to Use: Straightforward controls and user-friendly functions allow quick, easy, repeatable operation.
Safe: The polycarbonate viewing window is engineered to withstand blade breakage should it occur. A cover shut-off switch and emergency stop provide added operator protection.
PowerCut 10x™ Accessories
The PowerCut 10x™ has a number of accessories to increase performance, operator safety and convenience when using the saw.
The 7-gallon (26.5 L) recirculating coolant system is constructed of corrosion resistant materials for maximum durability. The reservoir fits conveniently in the available cabinet, or can be placed near the machine in existing lab furniture. A removable catch screen enables quick cleaning of larger particles. Baffles inside the reservoir trap particulates. The optional roller cart (included with cabinet) allows easy transfer for cleaning.
Quick-Slide Vise is made of hardened stainless steel, the quick-slide vise features a lead-screw that disengages for quick and easy operation. The vises can be positioned anywhere along the T-slots, and allow samples up to 3" (76 mm) deep to be secured.
Vertical adjusting clamp can be positioned in any orientation throughout the T-slots in the tables. The height adjustable lever allows various size samples up to 2.25" (57 mm) thick to be secured. Interchangeable pads are available for a variety of sample shapes. Each clamp includes one (1) angled pad and one (1) flat pad.
The extraction port is used to remove smoke and odor from the cutting chamber. The 3" diameter port allows a hose to connect with stand-alone or facility filtration systems.
Blade Position Laser Indicator projects a line on the sample for quick, visual alignment with the cutting path.
The cabinet/stand is designed to provide a solid platform to support the PowerCut 10x™. Made of cross-braced aluminum for vibration control, strength and stability, it is configured for proper routing of electrical cords, drain hose and coolant supply tubing. It features a large, deep drawer for storing fixtures, tools and blades, and a hinged door to house the recirculating coolant system. One (1) #5-4210 Roller Cart is included.
The 415V machine comes installed with the safety interlock, which locks the saw enclosure during operation. If desired for the 230 or 480 V versions, it must be ordered and factory-installed.
TrimSaw 2x™
The TrimSaw 2x™ is a manual-feed, variable-speed table saw that is ideal for cutting printed circuit boards, composite/ceramic substrates, electronic devices and other nonmetals. Cutting fluid is drawn from the reservoir by the rotating blade, applied to the sample during sectioning, then channeled back to the reservoir through holes in the cutting platform.
When using a 6" (152 mm) diameter blade, the rim extends 1.6" (41 mm) above the cutting platform, allowing up to 1.5" (38 mm) thick samples to be sectioned. The adjustable rip fence is made of stainless steel and allows measured, guided sectioning through the blade. Optional miter-guide and multipurpose fixtures slide in the table slot for more precise cutting requirements or when handheld sectioning cannot be tolerated.
