Diamond compound is specifically formulated for metallographic sample preparation and offer a higher concentration of diamond compared to suspensions. They are water soluble and compatible with glycol or alcohol based lubricants.

Diamond compound is typically used as a standalone product or to charge polishing cloths before applying diamond suspension. They are particularly effective when polishing soft metals where embedding is a challenge.
