Sample Holders

Sample holders are essential for use with semi-automatic systems with a powerhead. They serve to both hold and move the sample during the grinding/polishing process.

There are two (2) types for preparing samples using either individual force (IF) or central force (CF) for each powerhead and platen size configuration.

Starting with individual force sample holders, options for round, square or rectangular openinings are available to choose from:

• 3-position for PH-3/3x - 5-38XX series
• 4-position for PH-4/4x - 5-37XX series
• 6-position for PH-6/6x - 5-39XX series

For central force the choice is influenced more by platen size:

• 5-33XX series for 8, 10 or 12-inch platens
• 5-34XX series for 10 or 12-inch platens
• 5-36XX series for 12-inch platens

and with different mount clamping options to choose from:

• Tear-drop shape
• Dual-cavity - clamp two (2) mounts with one screw
• Set-screw - for square/rectangular geometry
